Based upon a detailed research of the course content of the world's Best Hotel Schools, the syllabus of Four year degree programme is designed by the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) and H.N.B Garhwal University. This enables the students to be at par with any degree programme around the globe. The curriculum emphasizes theoretical as well as on-the -job exposure, thus making the six months industrial training mandatory and beneficial for every student.
The bachelor's degree of UTU spans for four years.
The students assessment is based upon:
* 3 Internal Examinations held by the Institute in the month of October-November, January -February & April
* All three Internal examinations are mandatory to assess students' continuous performance.
* UTU conducts final exams in the month of December and May (twice a year) for each session and the assessment is done accordingly.
* The student should have minimum 85% attendance (aggregate) before each internal failing which he/she will be
debarred from appearing in final examinations as per UTU and H.N.B Garhwal University directives.
